The Price of Deceit

People are always telling me things I don’t want to know…

There is a problem with lies and deceit. Once you deceive someone and lie to cover it up, there must be more lies told to cover up your actions. Even when your actions aren’t directed at anyone in particular, there is always collateral damage…other people who get caught in the crossfire or hurt peripherally by your actions. While your actions may be explainable, they are never excusable.

The price of deceit is a high price indeed.

I couldn’t agree more. People try to justify lies and deception all the time, but there’s just no way you can do that without hurting someone, and oftentimes lies end up having a snowball effect and you take way more people down with you than intended. The results aren’t worth the temporary relief from whatever consequences there might’ve been if you were honest. And sometimes being honest will have results you hadn’t even considered possible, and the lie wouldn’t have even been “necessary”. Give the truth a chance and doors will open.
